Re: beigels
Got a smoked salmon & cream cheese from there this morning. And a sausage roll, which was crap.

Re: beigels
I think so. There was/ is an industrial estate around the back of beckton alps that would have been perfect for that sort Of thing.

Sad to see the 'alps' return to a slag heap these days.

Re: beigels
Was there a bowling alley near the ski slope as well??

Can't help thinking we were in there when we heard and felt St Mary's Axe getting blown up by the IRA how ever many miles away that is.

Re: beigels
Depends how old you are Gavros, but I'm going back over 20 years and was purely as a friend of a friend lived near there.

I like shit hole pubs and the Beckton area never disappointed with shit pubs ;o)

Re: beigels
Drinking in beckton? I assume you mean that place by the golf range that got pulled down years ago?

Oh what a night.

Re: beigels
Never really bought into the love of beigels and often wondered why the designated driver would always take us to Brick Lane for a salt beef beigel when we lived in Hornchurch and had been drinking at either Beckton or Docklands, hence driving the opposite direction to home.

Rather a fresh seedy roll from the bakers any day of the week.

Re: beigels
That's because that cornflake place opened last year and was run by two beards twats. The beigel shops on brick lane have been there for a century. Brick lane has been 'hipster' for perhaps 10 years. Before that it was a proper old school market.

Only because you were paying something like £4 for a bowl.

Re: beigels
We had half of WHO frothing at the mouth in murderous rage about cornflakes being hipster last year ffs.

Re: beigels
I don't get why it's called hipster food all of a sudden. Just because it's in Shoreditch/Bethnal Green? They've been there for donkeys.

Have a look at the link.....hardly hipsters frequenting the place

Re: beigels
It is good bread, if you ever get near enough to somewhere that makes real ones instead if buying it out of tescos

And anyway I'm not here to defend beigels to the hilt. All I did was post up that video.

"I've even eating beigels for about 35 years"

Woooaaah make way for the bread police with his MD from the university of life school of hard knocks beigel division.

Re: beigels
He's got a point, though, hasn't he?

It's only a bread roll. And not particularly good bread, at that.

Gavros 12:09 Mon Nov 23
Re: beigels
Obviously got a very simple appreciation of life if you can't differentiate between different types of bread, mashed.

Also I've even eating beigels for about 35 years, and mine and others families for well over a hundred years, so hardly a hipster thing, you fucking dipstick.

Honestly couldn't tell the difference between one of them and one from the shop on Brick Lane.

Also add McDonalds into that.

It's bread. Get over it you hipster cunts.
